Deanery Synod is the place where working in partnership between lay and ordained people happens across the Deanery. Synod comprises the house of clergy and the house of laity. Every parish within the Deanery should have at least one nominated representative who attends on behalf of the parish, and these nominated representatives generally serve for 3 years. They also present a report on the proceedings back to their own PCC.
Deanery Synod will often discuss things that are happening within the Deanery that may in due course be passed along to the Diocesan Synod, and will also receive reports from those who have a wider Deanery role.
